Steen is dually qualified as a Danish advokat and a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.

Steen has worked in the Anglo-Nordic sector for more than 10 years in Denmark and England. His practice covers corporate and commercial work with a particular emphasis on cross border transactions and private international law.

Drawing on his international experience, Steen mainly acts for clients doing business internationally, managing and co-ordinating their legal requirements. His clients range from start-ups to major companies with a particular focus on the manufacturing and technology sectors.

Steen qualified in Denmark in 1991, having studied law in Copenhagen and Oslo. He moved to London in 1994 and joined Abbott King & Troen, the first multi-national partnership established in England. In 1995 he received a Master of Laws degree (English tax law, international tax law, English commercial litigation and international commercial litigation). In 1998 he joined Osborne Clarke’s City office and helped build their Danish desk. Steen left in 2001 to set up the firm.

Steen is the Chairman of the British-Nordic Lawyers Association and on the board/committee of a number of other organisations and companies.

More than 50% of the firm’s business is of an international nature.  Primary work areas include:

• agency, distribution and franchising agreements;
• company and business formations and structures;
• information technology and computer contracts;
• intellectual property planning and brand management (including trademark and design registrations);
• employment law and business migration;
• commercial dispute resolution;
• mergers, acquisitions, investment and funding;
• joint ventures and shareholders agreements; and
• commercial property.
